it’s the songs that count.

It is our privilege to shine a light on songs that are part of our collective memory and integral to our lives. Our legacy shall be preserving these memories: telling the stories of the songwriters and their life’s work for future generations.

a little introduction.

Everyone on our team understands the power of music. That is why we are so passionate about what we do. Taking Mojo Music & Media from our very first deal through to the sale was a great learning experience. We are now harnessing those lessons to bring together a portfolio of diversified, well-established music copyrights containing charted-hits and era-defining, culturally important songs under the Dynamite Songs umbrella.

what we believe.

It’s cool to be a boutique.

Controlling a relatively modest number of copyrights means our team has a deep and intimate knowledge of the entire catalogue.  We promise to show our portfolio of songs all the love and attention they deserve. That gives us an edge when it comes to building a personal, creative relationship with our writers or their heirs. It also ensures we are well placed to collect every penny due and creatively promote our works.

A fair deal is the right deal.

We know our chosen target market (deals up to $5m), and will stick with it. We appreciate there are myriad reasons for selling. One size never fits all. We will tailor deals to accommodate a seller’s needs.

the power of  partnership.

  • We are more than happy to acquire a meaningful stake that is less than 100% of the writer’s catalogue and enter a financial and creative partnership with the writer(s)/heirs.
  • If we buy 100% of the rights, it is still vital we build a strong creative partnership with the writers/heirs to promote their legacy effectively.

what we do.

  • administration, protection and collection

The fundamental functions of a music publisher have always been the same: to protect, manage and promote the rights we control. In terms of the global administration of our catalogue in the digital age we can think of no better partner than Kobalt Music Group to work alongside our in-house Catalogue team run by Peter Thomas who has more than 30 years’ experience in all aspects of managing catalogues.
  • creative promotion

Having an in-house sync licensing capability is a fundamental part of our business. The team is led by Lisa Macy who worked closely with Alan at Mojo. She is an experienced creative director with a proven track record built on great relationships far and wide.
  • other creative services

If we don’t have the skills in-house, we build strategic partnerships with creative specialists who we regard as the best in their chosen field to provide bespoke, innovative services that shine a spotlight on the songs and the talents of the great writers who created them.

  • songs are emotionally charged and  brief, so we remember them whole: the melody, the hook, the lyrics, where we were, what we felt.

Alan retired from a distinguished career leading Ernst & Young’s Media & Entertainment valuation team in 2017 to launch Mojo Music & Media. Along with his partners, he completed over 40 acquisitions, curating an impressive catalogue of music publishing rights, which was ultimately sold to Concord in the fall of 2023. When invited by the financial backers who helped build Mojo’s catalogue to repeat the success, Alan eagerly accepted. In 2024, alongside some of his former colleagues, he co-founded Dynamite Songs.
Alan’s goal is clear: to leverage the invaluable lessons learned from building the Mojo catalogue to create a remarkable collection of chart-topping hits and culturally significant songs under the Dynamite Songs banner.
